Lightning is one of the few mechanics named directly in the official Greedy Growers description: players are told to harvest before lightning. The public description does not give a strike probability, warning time, target rule, protection item, or exact plant outcome.
Before a strike
Record the seed, time since planting, visible growth or Greed state, weather cues, fertilizer, nearby plants, and whether the plant is alive. If you are testing risk, keep enough money outside that plant to continue playing.
After a strike
Inspect appearance
Capture color, size, effects, and any new state label. A visual change may not equal zero value.
Inspect interactions
Check whether harvest, sell, remove, water, or continued growth actions are still available.
Inspect value
Record both the displayed value and the actual balance change after the chosen action.
Inspect persistence
If safe, rejoin and check whether the struck state remains. Do not risk a valuable test solely for this check.
Why we do not publish lightning odds
A handful of strikes cannot reveal the true probability, especially if risk changes with time, Greed, seed, server, or update. “No strike in ten runs” is an observation, not a guaranteed safe window. Any claimed percentage needs a controlled, current sample and still should be labeled as an estimate.
Use Alive vs Dead for state checks and Harvesting for collection flow.
